Lahore, Pakistan – 24 March, 2025: Education is one of the greatest engines for societal development, laying a strong foundation for economic empowerment. To support Pakistan’s initiatives of making education accessible to its children, Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has donated essential supplies and limited-edition, handcrafted backpacks from its ‘Air crafted by Emirates’ collection to a non-profit organisation in Pakistan.
Pakistan has made significant reforms in its education system, continuously improving its infrastructure and resources to provide equal opportunities to children across the country. To support their efforts in rolling out access to education for children in rural areas, Emirates assisted the students of SOS Children’s Villages by donating 107 practical, stylish backpacks filled with stationery, books and hygiene supplies. The NGO was selected carefully as it serves local communities by creating a nurturing and inspirational space for financially disadvantaged youths to continue their education. The institute has a longstanding legacy of supporting youth and a particular focus on education. The initiative reinforces the airline’s commitment to ‘connecting communities’ by building enduring relationships and making meaningful differences in the destinations it serves.
Mohammed Al Nahari Alhashmi, Vice President, Pakistan for Emirates said: “We are pleased to collaborate with organizations such as SOS Village that share our commitment to advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 to ensure every child has access to quality education and gets a chance to learn, thrive and unlock their full potential. With 17 branches across Pakistan, SOS Children’s Villages has a wide network in the country. They have been carefully selected for their dedicated work in providing abandoned or orphaned children with a safe and stable home where they can pursue their education.
“Donating the Aircrafted KIDS bags made with recycled materials and filled with essential stationary, learning and hygiene items will equip children with confidence and tools to make their everyday learning journey easier. We take pride in sharing our upcycled bags as this initiative not only promotes sustainability but also connects children in Pakistan with a piece of our history.”

It was a delight for our children to meet the Emirates team, receive the bags, and create happy memories they will cherish forever.”
To ensure the NGO received exactly what they needed for each and every student, SOS Children’s Villages handpicked the specific bags they required from the ‘Aircrafted KIDS by Emirates’ collection, accounting for children of all ages. The backpacks were then handmade by Emirates Engineering in-house, with materials upcycled from the airline’s iconic A380 and B777 aircraft that underwent refurbishments.
In addition to the bags, Emirates provided school and hygiene supplies such as pens, pencils, erasers, calculators, notebooks, sanitizers, soaps, toothpastes and more. The airline also purchased books which blend culturally rich stories with interactive learning opportunities. The books can be swapped and discussed amongst the students, further developing their understanding of the material.
Under the Aircrafted program more than 50,000 kg of materials from 191 aircrafts slated to undergo the airline’s interior cabin retrofit programme are expected to be recovered and repurposed. In addition to the donations made in Pakistan, Emirates provided organisations in Bangladesh and India with bags, bringing the total donation to 700 in Asia alone after donating 1,239 in Africa in the previous months.

کراچی، 24 مارچ، 2025۔ تعلیم سماجی ترقی کی سب سے اہم بنیاد ہے، جو معاشی خودمختاری کے لئے کلیدی حیثیت رکھتی ہے۔ دنیا کی سب سے بڑی بین الاقوامی ایئرلائن ایمریٹس نے بچوں کے لیے تعلیم کو قابل رسائی بنانے اور پاکستان کے اقدامات کی معاونت کے لیے ضروری سامان اور محدود تعداد میں خصوصی تیارکردہ بیگز فلاحی ادارے ایس او ایس چلڈرنز ویلیجز(SOS Children’s Villages)کو عطیات میں فراہم کئے ہیں۔
پاکستان اپنے تعلیمی نظام میں نمایاں اصلاحات لایا ہے اور ملک بھر میں بچوں کو تعلیم کے مساوی مواقع فراہم کرنے کے لئے اپنے بنیادی ڈھانچے اور وسائل کو مسلسل بہتر بنایا ہے۔ دیہی علاقوں میں بچوں کی تعلیم تک رسائی کو شروع کرنے کی کاوشوں میں معاونت کے لئے ایمریٹس نے ایس او ایس چلڈرنز ولیجز SOS Children’s Villages) کے طلباء کو اسٹیشنری، کتابوں اور حفظان صحت کے سامان سے بھرے 107 اسٹائلش و پائیدار بیگز عطیہ کئے ہیں۔ اس فلاحی ادارے کا انتخاب احتیاط سے کیا گیا تھا کیونکہ یہ پسماندہ نوجوانوں کو اپنی تعلیم جاری رکھنے کے لئے مقامی آبادی میں سازگار ماحول پیدا کرتا ہے۔ یہ ادارہ نوجوانوں کی مدد کرنے اور تعلیم پر خصوصی توجہ دینے کی دیرینہ روایت رکھتا ہے۔ یہ اقدام ایئر لائن کے اس عزم کو بھی تقویت دیتا ہے کہ وہ پائیدار تعلقات قائم کرکے ان علاقوں میں عملی نتائج پیدا کرکے ‘لوگوں کو جوڑنے’ کے لیے پرعزم ہے جہاں وہ سرگرم عمل ہے۔
ایمریٹس کے نائب صدر برائے پاکستان، محمد النہری الہاشمی نے کہا، ”ہم ایس او ایس ولیج جیسی تنظیموں کے ساتھ اشتراک پر خوش ہیں جو اقوام متحدہ کے پائیدار ترقیاتی ہدف نمبر 4 کو آگے بڑھانے کے ہمارے عزم میں شریک ہیں تاکہ اس بات کو یقینی بنایا جاسکے کہ ہر بچے کی معیاری تعلیم تک رسائی ہو اور اسے سیکھنے، پھلنے پھولنے اور اپنی پوری صلاحیت سے فائدہ اٹھانے کا موقع ملے۔ پاکستان بھر میں 17 برانچز کے ساتھ ایس او ایس چلڈرنز ولیجز کا وسیع نیٹ ورک ہے۔ لاوارث یا یتیم بچوں کو ایک محفوظ گھر فراہم کرنے سے متعلق ان کے خصوصی کام کی بناء پر ان کا انتخاب کیا گیا ہے جہاں وہ اپنی تعلیم حاصل کرسکتے ہیں۔”
انہوں نے کہا، ”ری سائیکل شدہ مواد سے تیار کردہ اور ضروری اسٹیشنری سے تیار ایئرکرافٹڈ کڈز کے بیگز عطیہ کرکے بچوں کو اعتماد اور ٹولز سے لیس کیا جائے گا تاکہ ان کے روزمرہ سیکھنے کے سفر کو زیادہ آسان بنایا جاسکے۔ ہمیں اپنے ری سائیکل شدہ بیگز فراہم کرنے پر فخر ہے کیونکہ یہ اقدام نہ صرف پائیداری کو فروغ دیتا ہے بلکہ پاکستان میں بچوں کو ہماری تاریخ سے بھی جوڑتا ہے۔”
ایس او ایس چلڈرنز ولیجز پاکستان کی نیشنل ڈائریکٹر صبا فیصل نے کہا، ”ایمریٹس کی ٹیم کی میزبانی کرنا خوشی کی بات ہے، اور ہم اپنے اِن بچوں کی تعلیمی ترقی میں تعاون کی فراہمی پر ان کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہیں، جو کمزور مالی پس منظر سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں لیکن کامیابی حاصل کرنے اور معاشرے میں مثبت کردار ادا کرنے کی بے پناہ صلاحیت رکھتے ہیں۔ ہم ایمریٹس جیسی کمپنیوں کے شکر گزار ہیں جنہوں نے ان طلباء کی فلاح و بہبود کے لئے اپنے تعاون سے انہیں مثبت انداز سے متاثر کیا۔ ہمارے بچوں کے لئے ایمریٹس کی ٹیم سے ملنا، بیگ وصول کرنا اور خوشگوار یادیں تخلیق کرنا خوشی کی بات تھی جنہیں وہ ہمیشہ یاد رکھیں گے۔”
اس بات کو یقینی بنانے کے لئے کہ ہر طالب علم کو بالکل وہی چیز ملے جس کی انہیں ضرورت تھی، ایس او ایس چلڈرنز ولیجز نے ‘ایئرکرافٹ کڈز بائی ایمریٹس’ کلیکشن سے مطلوبہ مخصوص بیگ منتخب کیے، جس میں ہر عمر کے بچوں کا حساب رکھا گیا۔ اس کے بعد ان بیگوں کو ایمریٹس انجینئرنگ نے ہاتھ سے تیار کیا، جس میں ایئر لائن کے مشہور A380اور B777طیاروں کے مواد کو ری سائیکل کیا گیا تھا جن کی تزئین و آرائش کی گئی تھی۔
بیگز میں بنیادی اسٹیشنری کے ساتھ ساتھ کیلکولیٹرز، نوٹ بکس، سینی ٹائزرز، صابن، ٹوتھ پیسٹ سمیت دیگر اشیاء شامل ہیں۔ ایئرلائن نے کہانیوں کی رنگ برنگی کتابیں بھی خرید کر اس بیگ میں شامل کیں۔ طلباء ان کتابوں کو پڑھنے کے بعد ایک دوسرے سے کہانیوں کی کتابوں کا تبادلہ کرکے مزید لطف اندوز ہوسکتے ہیں۔
