Mobile Network Speed

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has published its Quality of Service (QoS) Survey results for the second quarter of 2025, identifying the country’s fastest mobile networks based on internet speed performance.

According to the newly released report, Zong 4G led the pack with the highest average download and upload speeds, maintaining its reputation as the top-performing mobile network in Pakistan. It was followed by Jazz and Telenor, while Ufone came in last in terms of internet performance during Q2 2025.

While upload speeds across networks remained relatively close, download speeds showed a substantial gap. Ufone’s average download rate of 15.36 Mbps lagged significantly behind Zong’s 25.64 Mbps, showing a performance difference of over 10 Mbps.

The PTA conducted this QoS benchmarking survey across 13 major cities, including:

  • Islamabad
  • Rawalpindi
  • Lahore
  • Faisalabad
  • Multan
  • Sialkot
  • Gujranwala
  • Peshawar
  • Karachi
  • Hyderabad
  • Sukkur
  • Quetta
  • Muzaffarabad

🔍 How Was the Survey Done?

To ensure reliable results, PTA used specialized drive test tools and software integrated into test vehicles. This allowed for standardized, real-world assessments across voice and data services.

Over the second quarter of 2025, the survey recorded:

  • 44,000+ voice calls
  • 117,000+ data sessions

These tests analyzed latency, download/upload speeds, and signal strength, ensuring comprehensive insight into network performance.
