Chelsea designs special boots to help Palmer manage toe injury.

Chelsea’s ‘ace’ Cole Palmer, 23 years old, has once again been hampered by an absurd and unbelievable injury. However, Chelsea has mobilized specially made football boots in a full-scale effort to expedite his return.

The UK’s *Telegraph* exclusively reported on the 22nd (Korean time), “Chelsea has produced custom-made football boots exclusively for the player to minimize the recurrence of Palmer’s bizarre injury. Chelsea is helping Palmer return to the training ground as soon as possible at the club level.”

Palmer had almost recovered from a groin injury and was on the verge of returning. However, on the night of the 19th (local time), he suffered an absurd accident where he fractured his left pinky toe by hitting it against a door at home. It was an unexpected setback that suddenly occurred while he was already recovering quickly.

Chelsea did not waste any time. The *Telegraph* reported, “They have newly adjusted a left-foot-specific football boot for Palmer to minimize impact. There is a possibility of resuming grass training next week using these boots.” If things go well, he could return around the December 4th Leeds United match or the 7th Bournemouth match.

Manager Enzo Maresca announced during a briefing on the 21st that Palmer will miss the Burnley, Barcelona, and Arsenal matches, deepening fans’ disappointment. Palmer has been rehabilitating since being substituted due to groin pain during the September Manchester United match.

Maresca explained the situation with a laugh, saying, “Unfortunately, there was a small accident at home. It’s not a major injury, but he needs to rest for a week right now. I also bump into things everywhere when going to the bathroom at night. It’s something anyone can experience.”

Although a small toe fracture can sometimes lead to a prolonged recovery period, the *Telegraph* provided a positive outlook, stating, “In Palmer’s case, it has already been well fixed in place and appears to be a relatively minor injury.”

Palmer has only made four appearances this season. Of those, he played a mere 145 minutes in the Premier League. Amid Chelsea’s recent inability to gain momentum, the club and fans’ desire for his return to be accelerated by even a week is evident.

Chelsea hopes Palmer can begin grass training next week. However, Palmer is scheduled to meet a specialist soon to confirm a more accurate recovery progress. /reccos23@osen.co.kr
