Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

Google launched the Pixel 10 series last month, featuring the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The devices hit shelves toward the end of August, with the Pixel 10 Pro XL 5G priced at $1,199 for the 256GB + 16GB RAM model and $1,319 for the 512GB variant.

Teardown by JerryRigEverything

Tech YouTuber Zack from JerryRigEverything recently shared a detailed teardown of the Pixel 10 Pro XL, revealing Google’s latest steps toward making its flagship lineup more repair-friendly.

One of the most notable upgrades is the battery design, which is far easier to remove compared to older Pixel phones. This change could save both technicians and users considerable time during repairs.

The teardown further revealed that:

  • Most internal components are accessible from the back of the phone.
  • The screen can be replaced from the front, with only a single cable linking it to the main body. This makes screen replacement a simpler process compared to many rival smartphones.

Mixed Reviews on Repairability

While Zack praised Google for these design improvements, iFixit, a well-known repair guide platform, gave a more cautious review. According to iFixit, although progress has clearly been made, the changes may not be as revolutionary as they appear.

Still, the easier battery removal was highlighted as a welcome advancement, marking a step in the right direction for Google’s push toward sustainability and user-friendly device maintenance.
