Foreign Company

Pakistani businessman Ali Kamran has officially become the 10,000th foreign entrepreneur to register a company in Yiwu, a city in China’s eastern Zhejiang Province, famously known as the “global supermarket.” His company, Yiwu Al-Wafia Business Consulting Information Co., Ltd., was granted its business license on July 31, marking a significant milestone for the city’s foreign investment landscape.

With Ali Kamran’s registration, Yiwu now boasts foreign-funded enterprises from over 160 countries and regions, creating a broad international investment ecosystem that spans five continents.

Ali, who is currently pursuing a medical degree at the Belt and Road International School of Medicine at Zhejiang University, described the process of setting up his business as exceptionally smooth and efficient.

“The experience of starting a business in Yiwu couldn’t be better — the entire procedure is incredibly fast and convenient,” he shared, smiling. “Although my academic focus is medicine, I wanted to explore broader opportunities in what I see as a borderless hub for entrepreneurship.”

His newly formed company will offer business consulting services, including market research, policy guidance, and support for foreign investors entering the Chinese market.

Ali further expressed admiration for China’s pro-business environment, emphasizing how quick and efficient the registration process was.

“From submitting the required documents to receiving our business license, the entire process took just one day,” he noted. “China is an amazing place for international trade, and I truly hope that more foreign companies can grow and succeed here. Yiwu’s products, in particular, deserve even greater access to global markets.”

Ali’s venture reflects the growing appeal of Yiwu as a destination for international commerce and underscores the city’s continuing efforts to support foreign entrepreneurs in establishing a strong global trade presence.
