A delegation from Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and the UAE-based DP World has unveiled plans to develop a dedicated commercial hub near Jebel Ali, UAE, named ‘Pakistan Mart’, to promote Made-in-Pakistan products internationally.
The initiative was formally presented during a meeting with Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Wednesday. According to details shared during the discussion, DP World will construct the facility without charging any construction cost to Pakistani stakeholders.
Pakistan Mart is expected to serve as a one-stop commercial gateway for warehousing, retail outlets, showrooms, and e-commerce fulfillment centers, specifically designed to support Pakistani exporters. The project aims to provide streamlined access for Pakistani businesses to enter and expand in the Middle East, Africa, and other global markets.
Key product categories identified for inclusion in the hub include textiles, surgical instruments, sports goods, food products, perishable items, and nutraceuticals. The Ministry of Commerce and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will assist in implementation and ensure coordination with relevant departments.
The visiting delegation also sought government support in the selection of tenants, launch of promotional campaigns, and facilitation of exporters who would benefit from this international trade opportunity.
