Rain

Sialkot has experienced record-breaking rainfall, with more than 355 millimeters of rain recorded in just 24 hours, leading to severe flooding across multiple parts of the city.

Urban Areas Submerged

Neighborhoods including Rangpura, Shahabpura, and Allama Iqbal Chowk have been hit particularly hard, with streets and residential areas submerged under several feet of water. Daily life has been brought to a standstill as residents struggle to cope with the unexpected deluge.

Rising Threats from Nullah Dek

The Nullah Dek has recorded an exceptionally high water flow of about 77,000 cusecs, causing nearby villages to flood. Many families have been forced to evacuate their homes and move to safer locations as water levels continue to rise.

Rescue and Relief Operations

Rescue teams are working actively across the affected zones, assisting residents in evacuating to temporary shelters and providing emergency supplies. Authorities have urged people to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary movement in inundated areas, and cooperate with relief teams.

Rivers at Risk

In addition to urban flooding, high-level floods have also been reported in the Chenab and Ravi rivers, where water levels are rapidly increasing. Emergency response units have been stationed to monitor the situation and take preventive measures to protect surrounding communities.

Situation on High Alert

The Meteorological Department has warned that more heavy rain is expected in the coming hours, which could intensify flooding and increase the danger for vulnerable areas. Officials remain on high alert, preparing for possible mass evacuations and additional relief efforts.

Sialkot is now facing one of the most challenging flood emergencies in recent years, with a timely response deemed critical to safeguarding lives and minimizing damage.
