The Best Mobile Networks in Pakistan Ranked Again: Ookla Report

Ookla, the global company best known for its Speedtest service, has released its H1 2025 report evaluating internet service providers (ISPs) around the world, including Pakistan. The rankings are based on millions of user-initiated tests along with Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics gathered between January and June 2025.

The performance scores combine multiple indicators such as download and upload speeds, web browsing, video streaming quality, and overall network consistency.

Best Mobile Networks in Pakistan

According to the report, Jazz maintained its position as the top mobile network in Pakistan during H1 2025 with a Speedtest Connectivity Score of 56.52.

Zong – 41.21
Telenor – 36.45

These scores reflect how each operator performed across different parameters, making Jazz the clear leader in both speed and quality of experience.

City-Wise Mobile Internet Speeds

Faisalabad was recorded as the fastest city for mobile downloads, achieving a median speed of 24.45 Mbps. Lahore followed in second place, while Multan secured third.

On the other hand, Quetta reported the slowest median speed at 19.37 Mbps, with Sialkot and Karachi performing only slightly better. Across all ten major cities surveyed, Jazz consistently offered the fastest speeds.

Regional Performance

Punjab ranked at the top regionally with a median mobile download speed of 22.1 Mbps. Sindh secured second place, while the Islamabad Capital Territory came in third.

At the lower end of the spectrum, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) recorded the slowest speed at 11.22 Mbps, followed by the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Once again, Jazz remained the fastest provider across all five regions of the country.

Fixed Broadband Performance

While the report primarily highlighted mobile networks, Ookla’s rankings also extend to fixed broadband providers, where similar evaluations are conducted. Details of Pakistan’s broadband ISP rankings for H1 2025 are expected to follow.
