Muhammad Zohaib Khan, the former chairman of Pakistan’s IT industry association, P@SHA, has been recognized as the Pride of Pakistan for his outstanding contributions to the country’s IT sector. The announcement was made on the eve of the 78th Independence Day celebrations at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad.

Muhammad Zohaib Khan was the only P@SHA chairman and one of the few businessmen from the IT industry to receive this prestigious recognition. With over two decades of experience in the IT sector, he has represented Pakistan on various global platforms in different capacities, earning numerous accolades for his dedication and service to the nation.

During his tenure as chairman, Pakistan achieved its highest-ever IT export earnings of over $3.2 billion in FY24. Under his leadership, the country hosted the APICTA Awards for the first time in 2023, a significant milestone for regional economies. He also spearheaded several key initiatives, including IT export awards, tax incentives at both federal and provincial levels, 50% retention of foreign exchange in bank accounts, and the formation of Tech Destination Pakistan in collaboration with policymakers and a private bank. Additionally, he revamped the P@SHA secretariat and its research and development unit.
